State of the Bay: Tampa Bay Estuary Program

Did you know about the Tampa Bay Estuary Program?

The Tampa Bay Estuary Program's mission is to build partnerships to restore and protect Tampa Bay through implementation of a scientifically sound, community-based management plan. Collaborating with scientists and decision makers, TBEP monitors progress in achieving the goals of the community’s plan for a healthy Tampa Bay. Maya Burke, TBEP Assistant Director, will summarize the state of nutrient pollution, harmful algal blooms, and water quality; trends in habitats and land use, including seagrasses, mangroves, oysters, tidal creeks (and more!); and recommend ways the community can help protect Tampa Bay.
