Event Details
Hello, bird enthusiasts!
Adults: for our next field trip, we will be joining Jim McGinity, Environmental Resource Teacher & Master Bird Bander from the Florida Avian Conservation, on Sunday, April 13th, 2025, for a Bird Banding Demonstration. You might remember him from our Backyard Birding presentation at the library in 2024.
The Bird Banding Demonstration at Hammock Park is a come-and-go event from 8am-12pm. However! The library will have their own field trip group (limit of 20 registrants) that will join the event from 9:30am-10:30am. Patrons are free to stay longer if they please. Library staff will be at Hammock Park from 9:30am-10:30am. The group will meet at the parking lot and walk together to the demonstration area. There will be signs directing visitors from the parking lot next to the butterfly garden/playground and the north end of San Mateo Drive. This is a great educational opportunity and a chance to meet fellow bird enthusiasts from our ELCL community.
Registration begins Thursday, March 13th at noon. Registration closes at 5pm on 11th. This program is free and open to the public. We hope to see you there!
It is recommended to wear closed-toe shoes and bring water and snacks as needed.
